Client: Grove Farm Properties
Location: Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i
Construction Cost: $7.5 million

Grove Farm Properties, Inc. proposed the construction of a water treatment facility capable of producing 3.0 million gallons per day.

As the first facility in the State of Hawaiʻi that utilized an immersed, vacuum-type, ultra-filtration membrane process, this system was designed to remove all particles from surface water greater than 0.1 microns in size. Drawing water from the Kapaia Reservoir, the high-quality finished water flows into the potable water distribution grid servicing the towns of Lihu’e, Puhi and Hanama’ulu.
