Freeway Management System – Various Phases

Client: State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation
Construction Cost: $9 million

Project Description

The Freeway Management System allows HDOT to provide real-time traffic information to the motoring public via variable message signs, while allowing HDOT to monitor the freeways via closed circuit television cameras. As part of each project, fiber optic and high speed internet connections are installed to control the variable message signs and cameras from the H-3 Traffic Operations Center located in Halawa Valley.

ATA has provided the design services, permitting, and coordination for a number of Freeway Management System projects throughout the years.
